We have a 2015 R27,and the battery charger is not working nor is the inverter our knowledge of electric's s limited
1: The inverter is an on board solutions 1500 and is not working the inverter remote is showing power but there is no power showing on the dial that has the shore, inverter, etc.
2:The Battery charger is a Pro Nautic 12.20 It shows it has AC power also every light on the unit is lit, turning it off and on again does not resolve the problem.
We have not turned on the battery charger and the inverter at the same time.

We were at anchor last week and found that the house batteries would drain over night and the only thing running was the fridge and it was on 2 but would charge up very quickly with the solar panel .
If any one has any experience of this or suggestions we would be grateful .

Hello,

I would check the ANL fuse which is located in the port aft cockpit hatch by the batteries. Also checking that the battery switch is on which is in the same compartment. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thanks Kevin,
We had an electrician come down today and unfortunately we got caught in some heavy winds the other week and the waves were coming over the swim grid into the cockpit and the result was that we had fried both the inverter and battery charger as the fans on both units sucked in the moisture.
On reflection maybe this is not the best place for electronics

We’re your cockpit hatches open?

It is not the best place but unfortunately that is where the charger is located. This has been talked about many times on Tugnuts. There have been many failures of Charger/inverters do to water intrusion. There are things that can be done to resolve the water intrusion issue.

Remove the drain screens in the hatch troughs,
Maintain and clean the drains regularly
reseal the hatch lids to reduce the amount of water that will leak by the hatches
Remove the hatch latches and seal them
install a cover or shroud over the top of the electronics to shed water away in the event that water does leak by the hatch seals when the drain troughs over fill.
Install a rubber seal on the transom door to stop following seas from flooding the cockpit.

Move the inverter and charger to a drier Location.

My C26 had the Charger located in the starboard deck locker. I moved it further under the deck so it was about 6" away from the hatch. It was hard to read or see the indicator lights. I had to use a mechanics mirror to see them but it was completely out of harms-way. I installed the inverter on top of the waste tank. I made a bracket out of starboard that striped to the waste tank and mounted the inverter to the bracket. This located the inverter in an area with good cooling ventilation and a dry environment. gallery2.php?g2_itemId=47250

What year is your C26? I have a 2012 and am experiencing charging problems with my engine battery. I am trying to troubleshoot it remotely and want to give a mechanic some information of where to look and what to look for. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. I went to the Fluid Motion parts list looking for replacement number, but no luck.
I am replacing both ACRs which were damaged by salt water intrusion.
