Hello!
We took possession of our new to us 2011 R29 recently. I noticed during the haul out for the survey, there was no large anode plate attached to the transom. Each of the swim step supports had them, the prop as well. When going through the boat, I found an unused large anode plate in a storage area. Does this need to be added? Thanks in advance.

typically there is a large plate anode sometimes called a divers dream mounted on the stern. this is a catch all when the other anodes wear out. sounds like you have a spare. they last a while.

Thank you for the response! The question/concern is there isn’t one currently installed on the boat and there are no studs on the transom to install it etc.

I suspect the previous owner was potentially planning to add a transom anode (and bought one) when they discovered the alternative solution to just add anodes the swim step supports. No new holes drilled in the boat!

If I had thought of this before installing a transom anode I would have done the same! Brilliant!

HTH,

Curt
