We are recent owners of a 2017 Ranger S31 Tug. While docked on our recent trip several days ago, we suddenly found several inches of "dirty water" on the floor of the cave. We cleaned it out by briefly turning on the bilge pump (along with lots of towels) but have no idea where it came from. We pump out the waste tank regularly, and the waste tank level indicator was green. We have never used the Aft head. Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

We also have a problem with the Shower sump located underneath the forward berth. There is a constant fairly loud buzzing noise which is only stopped when we pull the fuse.
Any suggestions?

How dirty are we talking about? Could it be coming from the 2 windows in the cave leaking? Several of us have complained about the latch quality/confidence on those port holes

Very dirty and smelly! I don't think it was from the windows because we had been docked overnight and it was a sunny day. It was very sudden in the middle of the day.

You didn’t say which fuse. Does the shower sump pump operate correctly? Putting two and two together I would guess the sump pump is not working correctly and old shower drain water has collected in that area. It just found a way out. Also, using the bilge pump to remedy the problem doesn’t make sense. To flood deep enough to wet the cave, the entire bilge would have to be filled way above the level of the pump and float switch. Does your float switch(s) and bilge pump(s) operate correctly? More investigation and info is needed.

I agree with Flyer based on the little bit of information we have here. My best guess here is that the filter that is integral to the shower sump unit is plugged; the pump is running but can't discharge the shower water; and this water is accumulating in the bilge areas. The cave floor is very low in the boats and enough water could definitely build up there when the boat is running at speed where the bow lifts up. The filter is not convenient to get to but must be inspected and cleaned often if the shower is being used on a regular basis.
