2023 Ranger Tugs R23 will collect a couple gallons of water at the transom drain plug after a good rainstorm.

Is this normal?

Water route does the water take to get there?

Curt

Of course a "good rainstorm" defined by an Oregonian is different than an Arizonian, but we have not had any collection in massive monsoon downpours we get occasionally.

Consider inspecting the overboard drains in the hatch coamings. They are prone to clogging from cockpit debris and the drain hose does not have a very steep departure to overboard. If clogged, they would likely find any imperfect seal in the lazerette gaskets and allow water to backup and overflow the coamings into the lockers.

my drains are clean and clear.

Any other options for water getting to this location from the forward area?

Interesting. Any leaks forward of the cockpit would likely be obvious. Consider dousing her down with a garden hose and inspect as you go. Please report what you find.

Good idea - I will use the hose up on the bow and see what we get.

Put a couple gallons in the chain locker - that drained out correctly
