I need an assist from anyone with a late model Ranger 29 on the hard with boat stands.
Previously built a rear cradle for our Cutwater 28 and we now have a Ranger 29 on order.
I want to modify the cradle for the new Ranger this winter. See attached picture.
Need to know the distance between your stern boat stand posts when you are set on the hard.
I know the boat goes from 8' 6" to 10' beam, but really don't want to guess at the modification when I cut and weld.
Thanks
For some reason I can not attach the picture, but I did get it in my user gallery if you click on the button by my name, or PM me

Hello Jeff,
Did you receive your 29? I have a 2024 and we are really enjoying it, but I am unable to get it on my lift to date. It sounds like you either take your 29 out of the water or are prepared to. I may have my bunks set too high and thought you may have data that could help me. I have my bunks set 60” apart and the tops are 22” from the bottom crossbeam. Is this too high? I am concerned about the keel in the aft hitting the crossbeam, but would need to lower the bunks, as my lift sets too high for me to get on. Any advice or help is appreciated.

Mike

Mine is a rear cradle for storing on the hard. It is designed for the keel to sit on a pad and then 2 jack supports are fixed equidistant from the keel. I modified by spreading the jacks since the R29 is a 10' beam. I did receive my R29 but will not have it on the hard for another 5-6 weeks. I have attached a picture of it under the Cutwater 28.IMG_1421.jpg

I appreciate you getting back to me, if you haven’t already, I would like to learn how far apart you set your jack stands and the vertical distance from the bottom of the keel to the top of the jack stands on your R-29.
Thank you

From the centerline of the keel to the outside of the pad is 48" keeping the pad inside the chine.
I do not know the height. The jacks are adjustable and I have not put the boat in the revised cradle this season to be able to measure. I got the width from the factory. They measured a boat on the hard and sent them to me.

Thank you so much, I am working to get my boat on a lift and I have the bunks set 60” apart, with a 22” height. I have a low water issue right now and can’t get the boat up on the bunks. If I spread them further apart I will improve my ability to get on, but that would decrease the 22” clearance. I will figure it out, but appreciate your help and input

I found this line drawing that might help,IMG_0781.jpg

Thank you for the drawing. I have that drawing and it is somewhat helpful, but does not show the slope of the hull in degrees and is not a scale drawing.

Well, I finally was able to get my R-29 on the boat lift, and would like to share some information that may be helpful to others.
With the bunks set at 60” apart and at a height of 22” above the crossbeam, I have just 2 1/4” from the aft keel and the crossbeam.
