2019 Ranger CB-31. My port Roca windshield wiper is not working. I believe it is the motor, because it sounds like it is opening the button circuit breaker above the switch when I turn it on.
Can anybody describe how to remove the motor, and replace it with a new one. It looks like I will have to disassemble some of the cabinetry and trim.
Also, is there a separate fuse for each wiper, and where do I find it?
The other wipers are working just fine .
Thanks in advance

There is a 30 amp fuse for subpanel 8 and on subpanel 8 (dash switches) there are separate 5 amp circuit breakers above each switch for each wiper motor. Have not removed the motors YET, following for that information

Thanks for the info.
I have not found the 30 amp breaker, but I believe it controls all the wipers, so if one doesn't work because of that breaker, they all shouldn't,
As for the 5 amp individual breakers, the one for the left wiper seems to trip when I try to operate that switch. I believe that means there is something wrong with the motor itself, which is why I want the advice of how to take it out. Like many things on the Ranger Tug, it is really packed in there.

So if the CB trips when reset that means the 30 amp fuse is good. Do not continually reset the 5 amp CB, it damages the CB contacts. Disconnect the motor safe the wires (tape or wire nut) and try the CB one time if it trips it is the wiring if it does not trip it is the motor.

I believe the 30 ap fuse is in the area behind the Garmin plotter

Thanks for the info. I'll try that in a few days when I get back to the boat

If you were on the Chesapeake I'd drop by to assist, Oh well, good luck. Owning a boat has a learning curve.

Rappja, did you solve your wiper issue? I have experience removing/replacing Roca motor on my 2020 R29, which requires accessing via removing of outdoor speaker. Probably your R-31 is different. Perhaps more importantly, I have a new Roca motor (model W12) I would happily send to you if is the same model as yours. I had operating problems with my new boat and in the process of resolving what turned out to be an incorrectly wired switch, Ranger sent me a new motor that I do not need. Message me if interested.

Hi
I haven't solved the problem yet, but it involves a typical boat gremlin story. I was checking the electrical connections at the motor, and, Eureka! I found that the black wire butt connector was disconnected on the switch side. Wonderful. All I had to do was connect the wires again, although this wasn't so easy, as there was very little wire from the motor to work with, in a small space. I finally got it done, turned on the switch, and......nothing.
The breaker still opens when I turn on the switch. I assume this is because of a bad motor, so I will very gratefully take you up on your offer. Of course, happy to pay for shipping. I'll send you a private message with my address. Send me the shipping bill.
Perhaps someone reading this can tell me step by step how to remove and replace the port side motor on my R-31.
Thanks again
