What water is this 'water gauge' monitoring?

Is this water gauge for the onboard potable water? I saw a water gauge in the wiring diagram, but not in plumbing ... unless I just missed it after three or four times .... 😀 And of course I am thinking if it IS the potable water tank sensor-fed, why nothing for holding tank (maybe just my model of boat?) 2017 RT25SC

That’s your fresh water gauge. I have a R-31 S tug and the black water gauge is on the toilet flush. Empty the light is green , 1/2 full light is yellow, and full the light is red.

My 2013 25SC does not have a holding tank sensor. I'm fine with that, they're often not very reliable (not a clean fluid for the sending unit) and you can see the level in the tank when you open the center engine room hatch.

That is the fresh water gauge. In my experience the sensors have a tendency to get scum on them and not float properly to give very accurate readings. On your R25SC the float gauge can be accessed by removing the refrigerator (four screws, if I recall correctly). Directly under there is the water sensor mounted on the top of the fresh water tank. You can remove it, clean it off, reinstall, and get good readings again if there was a problem with it.
On the R25SC the waste holding tank is behind the engine and you can visually see the level in the tank if the tank walls are reasonably clean. No gauge is needed with easy to view access.

Many thanks to everybody and Ivan came back as well .... I was pretty sure it was the potable water tank but I spent 13 years in submarines and learned to never take something for granted. The experience on this site is amazing and I very much appreciate it. I help when I can but most of you know more than I do about the RT's
