As we have gotten older am looking for an easier way on and off our Cutwater 28/2013. Was looking at a boarding gang plank onto the swim platform/starboard side. Looks like it will have to fit between the transom and the swim platform railing....+/- one foot wide and 4' long. Any experience with this design? What width will work?? We work off a wood floating catwalk.

I would think a well placed grab rail placed where you board the boat would be another option. If done right you could have one on port and starboard and would work with any dock and look like it was factory installed!
However a gang plank would be nice for when you want a crew member to walk the plank when at sea. Bob

This is what worked for us (humans and dogs). We have a fixed dock and the boat is on lift which can raised/lowered to appropriate boarding height. The ramp is a 16" x 42" hinged fold over plank. Dog tested.
