You are right and I misread the initial post. Thank you for clarifying!As referenced above, Martin’s data is from his R-27 O/B. There is probably more a difference in handling between a R-25 diesel and a R-25 O/B than between the R-25 diesel and the R-27 diesel. Mainly due to the lower C.G. of the diesel powered boats.
If I had to choose between the R-25 with a Yanmar diesel or the R-27 with the VO D3 diesel I’d choose the R-27 every time. While both are orphan engines, parts for the D3 are easier to get.
The roll probably isn’t much different between the R-25 and R-27 diesels but the pitch should be stabler due to the greater length and weight.
