Does anyone know where the NMEA 2000 is located on a 2021 ranger tug 29s?

Could you say more about why you're asking or what problem you're solving?

I ask because NMEA 2000 isn't a singular item, it's a messaging protocol which allows for networking of compatible devices to communicate with each other.

Look at the back of your Garmin MFD and you'll likely see black wires connected via couplings to the Garmin and to other devices. If you Google images of what NMEA 2K wiring looks like you'll see examples.

Please see my answer in this chat section newer thread with same question re R29 NM 2000 backbone location
I included pictures as well.
Maybe same on your 2021 vs 2017 or 2015

I suspect what the original poster is looking for is the location of the NMEA 2000 backbone on his boat. On my 2012 R27, it is located behind the refrigerator, an extremely poor place for access because the refrigerator must be removed to get to it. Where it is on an R29, I have no clue.

Since there seems to be uncertainty about what a NMEA 2000 backbone is and what it does, an explanation: The NMEA 2000 backbone is where the components that output NMEA 2000 data come together. From there, NMEA 2000 data is exchanged between the using components. For example, data from the GPS antenna is used by both the chartplotter and the VHF radio. Engine data is used by the chartplotter and the engine display. Heading information from the autopilot system goes to the chartplotter. On my 2012 R27, there are nine components connected to the NMEA 2000 backbone.

The backbone as originally installed on my boat was a bunch of “T’s” ganged together, a really awful way to create a NMEA 2000 backbone. I have since partially cleaned that up by replacing four individual T’s with a single 4-port connector. Next time I have access to the backbone, I plan to add another 4-port connector. I only had one on hand when I last worked on it.

The attached photo shows what my boat’s NMEA 2000 backbone looks like. This photo also shows the completely amateur woodwork hidden under the skin on my early model boat. It would get an “F” in 8th grade shop class. For the money paid for these vessels, I expected better. I sure hope the later model boats have improved techniques.

I can confirm on the 2021 access is through the small panel in the forward end of the cave.
