C30 Sanitation Hose Replacement

Hi Dave,
The instructions are to use no other chemicals in the holding tank--has that caused any issues for you?

Thats correct. I stopped using anything else, and my head / tank / hoses all smell mildly of chlorine and nothing else. It's pretty spectacular. I have gobs of leftover NoFlex and deodorizer tablets and have no need for them at the moment...

The Commoderizer looks great to me. I'm planning to order the StyleB, Strainer (from Amazon) and chlorine value kit...along with their tablets of course. Hopefully, I can find someone to do the install since I never like bilge diving and this looks like a double whammy if you've got to pull out the pump as well as install the filter inline.

Do the tablets need be changed every 2-3 weeks?

I won't miss freshwater flushing with the shower water...it works fine to eliminate odor, but, some folks just can't seem to push two buttons simultaneously 😀

Mine has been installed for about a month, and the tablet is still going strong. Two people, average flush cycles. I will check it this week before we head to canada to see if it needs a new one.

Excellent solution Dave! I would have gone with the fresh water option, but with a family of 4 onboard and my new Aquasana water filter hooked up directly to the water tank for drinking water, I can’t spare the fresh water.

I see where you put the device, where did you end up putting the required Jabsco in line strainer they suggest, and do you know what purpose that serves?

I just purchased the Big Orange OEM filter today, no more smells for us after this hopefully!

The commoderizer actually screws onto the strainer. The clear plastic top part screws off, and the commoderizer screws on in its place. They become one unit. 🙂 The strainer becomes a secondary filter before the water gets into the commoderizer and mixes with the chlorine. If you look at the photo I posted, the black part with the hoses attached is the strainer itself.

Ah… Thank you Dave, that makes sense!

Got the commoderizer installed this morning. Was pretty easy. Done in an hour including swapping out the viton valve on the pump!

Dbsea,

Looks like your icloud links may have expired, could you re-share them? Fixing my toilet odors is this month project, replacing the joker valve again, and will likely add the comoderizer to see if I can avoid installing a vent filter.

thanks!

I can't seem to figure out why that link stopped working, and not sure where it is in my photos... Basically I just cut the seawater intake line, and added the commoderizer strainer to the line, and attached it to the side wall of the engine compartment, where I could easily change the tablet.
