We are taking delivery of a new C32 CB in a few weeks which will be garaged in Texas and trailered around the country with cruising grounds in Florida, Bahamas, and Great Lakes mostly. Any recommendations for insurance? I am finding that the rates are higher than for my previous 40 footer in the PNW.

You get what you pay for. The value of your insurance company from my perspective is not the premium but the company’s practices and reputation regarding paying a claim. It’s great to pay 10% less premium for x company than y company but will x company actually pay your claim?
I look for companies that have stellar claims reputations. I have Chubb Masterpiece Yacht Insurance. We have had Travelers too.
Way too many boat owner horror stories of companies you see regularly on TV denying claims or severely depreciating damaged equipment.

We had a roadside assistance claim (flat trailer tire) with Travelers years ago. Paid promptly.
Chubb was highly recommended by our insurance broker, Anchor Marine, for their claims performance.
This JD Power ranking is for all property claims (not just boats) but I found it informative.

Geico is second largest auto insurance company in US. Not sure about boat ranking. I don't see Geico on the study list. ????

USAA uses Markel. I just dropped Markel after having excellent customer service on a $100K claim in 2019. Markel would not cover me unless the boat was hauled for a Tropical Depression, TS or hurricane. I use Global Marine as my broker and they found similar coverage for less than half of what I was paying with Markel and without the haul out requirement.
"The policy will include a General Condition, suspending all coverage if a windstorm warning is
issued for the area where the insured yacht is located and the insured yacht is not on land. The
insured yacht shall be on land until watches and warnings have all expired.
Windstorm is defined as Tropical Depressions, Tropical Storms, and Hurricanes as determined by
the National Weather Service and/or National Hurricane Center."

I recommend you call Global Marine Insurance (800-748-0224) (or contact them at globalmarineinsurance.com). They are familiar with Ranger Tugs and the way many of them are trailered to different cruising grounds. (I have no interest in the company but have been a customer for 15 years.)
