Has anyone done this yet. I did, had the boat out for the first time yesterday and did not get good results. Max RPM only 5000, loss of 4kts on top end, MPG was 2.4, which is lower then the Yamaha 3 blade. For reference, Yamaha F200XCA, I have the drop fins, Lenco Autoglide, and NIZPRO ECU Flash to 231 HP
Any thoughts?

Craig,
Yes, we installed the OSF4 with extension on our R23. We had similar results. Top speed went from 38 to 32 but I can get up to about 5600 rpm (I think, 5400 for sure) and about 2.4 mpg. We did pick up a little performance at lower speeds. Used to be like 7.5mph and 3.0 mpg, now perhaps 10 mph and 3.0 mpg. We use our boat on a river and the current has been a little high this spring so its hard to say for sure. We need it to settle down a little and I'll have better numbers. The hole shot did improve though, unless you have some folks in the back. The four blade does greatly improve reverse maneuvering and docking.

Thanks Bob,

I'm going to do a quick swap back to the stock prop and compare to make sure I got nothing else going on to cause the 800 RPM drop.

I'd suggest giving PowerTech Tech Support a call if you have not done so already. Your config. sounds like it may have come from Ken@PropGods who also suggested the ECU flash to me, although, I was afraid to do it. Ken's recommendation are very good but, weren't optimal for my boat.

Andrew Homa has an R-23 with Yamaha 200 motor and PowerTech 3 blade propeller (OFS3R12PCl200) 15.25" x12P which he said WOT at 5800rpm. If your only getting WOT 5000rpm with and OFS4, it would appear your over pitched, and need a lower pitch. Rule of thumb is 180rpm per pitch up/down, however thats for "like" props. We have an R27OB went from a 3Blade SWS2-15p to a 4Blade Mach4E-15P and lost 700rpm.

I have an email into Jared at PowerTech who I was working with.

I have an email into Jared at PowerTech who I was working with.
Jared has been one of my favorite dudes at PowerTech, but, I'm yet to get an email reply from him. Others, like StevenL will reply to email but, for me, Jared has been phone only.

Did finally talk to Jared at PT, he has sold 5 other OFS4 for the R23 community with the F200. Anyone else have any results to report? Jared advised me to remove the prop and install the original factory 3 blade to verify it's not any issue.

I swapped back to the original factory prop and it is much better. Using the OFS4, I was cruising at 4300RPM, 10.0 gph, 21 kts, engine appeared to be running hard under load, noisier than 3 blade, just sounded awful and the motor was under strain. Max RPM was 5100 trimmed up. Switched back to the 3 blade, cruising 4700 RPM, 9.5 gph, 24 kts, and economy was 2.6 npg versus 2.2, and she sounded much better, didn't feel like it was overloaded and max RPM was 5900 trimmed up. For some reason the OFS4 did not work for my R23.....
