Windless don't work.

Switch don't move anchor. Remote is not working also. What you think

What make & model windlass is it?
Is the battery supplying power turned on?
Is the windlass battery in good condition?
Are all the breakers and/or fuses good?
Are you getting power to the windlass?
Is there rust coming out of the windlass motor?

We’ve had 2 Lewmar Pro 1000 windlasses on our 2 FM boats for over a decade now and never had an issue with them. We use the windlass maybe 20-30 times a year. I spend an hour or two doing PM on the windlass each year and replace worn parts as needed.

In the old days there was a house battery bank, engine battery and combo thruster+windlass battery.
Sometime between 2009 and 2017, they moved the windlass power to the house battery bank. That gave the thrusters a dedicated battery.
Sorry, don’t know the exact year they made that change. But if the red rotary switches are on for both house and thruster batteries you “should” be getting power to the windlass regardless of the battery configuration.

Had similar issue, and found the breaker below throttle and Engine cabin heater control was tripped. Reset to correct. Worst part we had already Armstronged about 75 feet of chain prior to finding breaker.

We found out today that our 2014 27 Lewmar windlass runs off of the THRUSTER battery. It was a no go with the House batteries.

On our 2025 R29CB the windlass breaker is in the head cabinet. I have a house bank, a thruster battery and a start battery. According to my schematic, the windlass runs off the thruster battery.
