Swim Ladder R27 OB

Since we are so very much in the learning curve I find myself confronted with sometimes small but interesting challenges. This time it is the heavy rubber band type snap that keeps the swim ladder on our R27 OB in place. Yup, it gone and I was wondering how important it is to replace it and will the ladder actually slide out on its own if I don't

I don't think there is any mechanical latching on it, so that strap and friction are the only things holding it in. I would try to replace it or at least put a bungee cord around it.
