While getting the bottom painted, I figured I could get the stern thruster repaired, thinking it was a shear pin. Turns out the repair person said
“there’s no issue with a thruster pin — the problem is with the lower unit gear foot.” I can’t find any info and wondered if anyone else has had this repair? Thanks in advance for any information. —Micheal

Mine is a 2015 RT27. We have had the boat for 8 years. About a year after purchase, we noticed water in the stern thruster well. Further investigation found that it had not been installed properly (at the factory) and had begun leaking. The stern thruster itself, although still operational, was in very poor shape from the water intrusion. Quite a bit of corrosion. We chose to replace it knowing that it was on it's last legs. Sounds more like a mechanical problem with yours and it might be able to be repaired. But sorry, I have no experience on repairing a thruster. In our case, our only choice was to replace it.

Had the same thing with our 2015 27. It seems there is a bolt nut in a awkward position that makes it difficult to tighten when the thruster is installed - It leaks.

Had to haul the boat and take off and reinstall the thruster... not cheap
