Hey all, I have a CB30 and my hydraulic pump located in starboard lazarette makes intermittent noise. It is a rapid clicking/buzzing sound similar to the sound of a bilge kicking on. Any ideas and is this normal?

Our 2021 cb30 does not have any noise at the pump when at idle. I have never tried listening to it well the boat is running and on autopilot. It's too much engine noise to hear anything else. Is this happening at the dock and were you sure that the autopilot was off?

I need to verify my AP is off next time I go outt and bob around. I may be sitting there with the AP on heading hold. That would be a lot of work for the system. I know it was making the clicking sound when trolling for salmon @ 2mpg in rough seas.

I have a 2016 30CB
I have experienced the steering noise from pump side intermittently from time to time. With and without AP engaged. Twice I have bled air out of system and made sure fluid was filled from bridge. Yes if you forget to turnoff ap while in neutral hydraulic cavitation will occur till it no longer can maintain course/heading selected-noisy rattling sound.

You say you also heard the noise with AP not engaged. Did bleeding the system of air remedy this?
