My 9.9 Suzuki kicker cuts out when I turn up the idle. I am going to start by replacing the fuel filter while more likely I suspects it is clogged injectors. Before taking things apart I was wondering if anyone had success with an additive in the fuel . Since both motors work off the same tank I would either need to put the additive in my main tank or seperate the fuel line for the kicker .

Buy Sea Foam by gallon on Amazon. I use a gallon at one time in a 145 gal tank on R29 once a year. I am a believer. It is a chemical wonder. I could make a commercial showing how great it worked in my farm tractor. Made a crappy running engine into a smooth running engine.

Thanks, I have read mixed reviews concerning the outcomes. I will give it a try and maybe run the small motore at an idle for some time and see if it helps.

Sea foam is great yet it won't fix everything. If engine is all gummed up or gaskets are bad, you are out of luck. Sea foam never made any of my engines worse. If possible, only use non-ethanol gas in outboard. Try spraying straight Gumout in air intake while trying to keep engine running at medium speed.

Thanks! I changed the fuel filter and it will run for awhile but eventually stop, especially if I turn up the RPMs. I got an additive from the dealer to try as well.
