I just completed install on the MPPT 100/30 but am confused on what algorithm I should use for my UPG Universal house batteries.

Appreciate any advise provided.

Thanks much!

It is my understanding that the Expert mode allows the user to set the parameters. Are the parameters you entered based on your house batteries? If so, did you contact the battery manufacturer and ask them for the specifics or is there a source to reference?

Here's the spec sheet on the UB121100 Universal AGM 110ah battieries. I still have 1 left onboard (my thruster battery). You could do 14.6 for absorption and 13.6 for float.

Another thing to consider... voltage drop. With a Victron battery monitor (BMV 712 or the SmartShunt), and a Victron SmartSolar MPPT controller, you can create a VE Wireless network. The BMV/SmartShut creates the network and shares voltage and current info, and the MPPT Solar controller connects to that VE wireless network to receive the voltage and current readings. This would help with any voltage drop that is present between the MPPT controller and the batteries in that the MPPT controller would know the real battery voltage, closest to the batteries (from the battery monitor) via wireless communications, rather than relying upon the actual voltage reading the MPPT controller is getting, being far away from the batteries.

Continued thanks for your replies!

I just created a VE wireless network as I have the SmartShunt - very easy to do.
