Garmin problems

Hello everyone and anyone, Michael here on Lake Pend Oreille. I have an R23 2018 Tug, which I love. However, I've had problems with the Garmin, not registering the depth and having a repeating pattern on the screen. Occassionally it works, but mostly it doesn't.work. Can anyone tell me where the transducer is and if I should get a softward update? If so, how do I go about that? I appreciate any help I can get.It's frustrating to plan a day of fishing and then have a Garmin that doesn't work.

The transducer is in the berth area, under the step where the shower pump is. Your transducer is likely empty, or not full, of fluid. Fill with antifreeze. Your cup may also be leaking, so check if there is fluid around the cup. If so, it may need to be reseated. Lots of threads on this subject. And yes, you should update your software if needed. Read your manual for how to do that.
