We have a new Solara 310SB. We got it on April 2025 from Pocket Yatch after they unveiled at the Palm Beach Boat Show. Yes it was the show boat and thanks to Shane from the factory we got it ahead of time so we don’t have to wait for our ordered new one.

Anyone knows what’s the purpose of these notches in the front door going to the bow deck? Nobody knows…. It’s a mystery…

Did you ask the factory.
They built it. Someone over there knows.

Shore power cord pass through?

That’s a great point to pass shore power in the event I dock it forward. Interesting thanks for that….

Of course I already asked the people at dealer and the factory… and everyone has a different opinion that makes no sense whatsoever. That’s why I decided to ask you all as boat experts.

Any and all ideas are always welcome. Thanks.

Interesting. We picked up our new 310 SB a week ago. Our door doesn't have those notches. It's smooth across the top with snaps across on the inside to attach the full-bow canvas.

We have a S310 SB. Hull number 3.
Those notches are for when you want the lower door open and close the windshield. The notches allow room for the metal bar on the windshield to fit into the notch.
We had the factory replace our door with one that doesn’t have the notches. That way we don’t have wind and rain coming into the cabin.
David. It’s good to hear yours doesn’t have the notches.

Hello guys:

Thanks for the input about the doors. The door notches really has no logical function to me other than if I dock forwards and need to run the power cables thru it. Here in Florida rains frequently and sometimes the water comes in with the wind. Mostly comes from splashes when riding. I’ll ask the dealer if they can replace the door.

We got the show boat the factory send to the West Palm Beach boat show when unveiled the new model to the world. Thanks to Shane from the factory we were able to keep it instead of waiting for our order to be fabricated. We have it dock at Jensen Beach close to the Pocket Yatch dealer we got it from. Very convenient. Every time I go to the marina I have to pass the dealer.

To be clear, there is still a 1/8" to 1/4" gap at the top to allow the canvas to fold over and snap. Heh heh, up here in Puget Sound were familiar with the frequent rain, but ours is more a constant light rain or mist that just lasts from November to April.

We got the show boat that Andrew and Co showed around up here. I think it's hull number 5, but I'm not sure how to validate that.
