Hi,

I purchased a new 2026 R25 with the Lewmar bow thruster. I would like to add a wireless remote for the thruster as I often solo on the boat. Has anyone done this? It seems very simple to do, but I would appreciate any insights. Lewmar makes a wireless controller, but there are other brands as well. I would prefer to stick with Lewmar unless someone has information that would steer me in another direction.

I appreciate any information anyone can share. Thanks!

Are these wireless remotes able to connect to any of the Lewmar thrusters, or just specific models?

They are specific to the type of bow thruster installed. The R27 comes with a Lewmar 110TT, which I believe is the same on the R25.

They make a 3 button and a 5 button wireless remote. For the bow thruster, either would work. (the 5 button supports bow thruster and windlass). The 3 button is just one or the other.

Personally, I don't think you'd ever need one or use one. Single handling the boat, LemonDrop who went to SE Alaska with us single-hands her boat. Before pulling into the marina, she stages all the fenders and lines. She runs a dock line on the starboard or port side, runs them back into the cockpit. So once docked, she puts the boat in neutral, walks back out the cabin door and picks up the dock line as she steps off the boat.

Whichever way the bow thruster pushes, the stern goes the opposite direction. But it's not my boat and it was easy to install for the boater whom I did the install for.

The install instructions were somewhat cryptic I thought. But once understood, the install was a breeze. I'd be happy to walk anyone through it and save you a little time.
