Does anybody have any Dexter axle spec info for a 2016 EZ loader single axle for a R21-EC. We are new owners and lost a wheel on the interstate and need to replace the axle. If anyone has a model number or any other spec info that would help us find an axle it would be greatly appreciated. EZ loader has been contacted 4 times over the last several weeks, but no answers yet. We'd like a stouter axle than factory if we can find one that fits. Thanks for your help.

I have a 2014 EZ Loader Trailer. I inquired about the axle in 2021. This is the numbers that was provided to me by EX Loader. This is for the torsion axle that is on mine so not sure if your 2016 would be the same or not. 300-034138-10 AXLE TRSN NB 5500# 70.25"FC 88"HFL OIL

Could you share what exactly happen to your axle? Did you lose a bearing that resulted in damage to the spindle or something total different? Is it a torsion axle on yours with the oil filled hubs?.
Thanks.

Thanks for the response and info, it's appreciated. It's a torsion axle with oil filled hubs. The bearings were ok as we're the hubs, no leaks, no discoloration, etc. The spindle was damaged. The prior owner said he'd had the bearings serviced one year prior and had only used the trailer twice, short distances. The boat/trailer is at a trailer repair shop 4 hours from us, they are stumped on the cause. The lugnuts were torqued and had traveled 6 hours when the wheel came off, the tire is fine. It's a mystery.1000012348.jpg

Puzzled. When you say "lost a wheel" and "lugnuts were torqued", did the wheel center fail? The photo shows a loose rotor with no lug nuts or wheel; and it appears the trailer rode on the bare rotor. Thanks; lucky it was only a damaged spindle.

So we had just purchased the tug in Oregon and stopped by a tire shop for new tires before the 9 hour drive home. The tire shop torqued the lugs when they put the rims back on. 6 hours into the drive a wheel came off and passed us on the highway, didn't feel vibrations or anything. The lug bolts/nuts were gone as shown as was the break caliper, we coasted in on the rotor. Upon inspection the oil filled hub didn't have a leak and the bearings didn't fail. Our insurance suspects the tire shop didn't torque the lugs correctly. Luckily no one was injured and there was no other damage, we were in heavy traffic in a construction zone.

Wow! Very fortunate under the circumstances; enjoy your new Tug.
