Can anyone tell me the make and model of the cockpit refrigerator and freezer being put on the R31s now?

I notices the standard is a refrigerator with a freezer as an option.

The original ice maker in my 2019 R31CB has failed and I would like to look at options to replace it.

Thank you,
Keith

I swapped out my cockpit ice maker for the Novakool R1900DC. Mine is a 2019 R29, but I'm pretty sure they used same size fridge.

I swapped out our (broken) ice maker for a latched door and use the space for extra storage.

Was it a pretty easy install? Any pics post installation?

The install was easy. Taking out the ice maker has a few more steps because it's connected to the water supply.

First, deal with the water supply. Just inside the cabin door, pull up the floor panel and you should see your freshwater pump and a line supplying cold water to the rest of the boat. There should be a T-connector in the line with a smaller diameter (0.25"?) tube running aft to the ice maker. You'll need to either cut and cap the ice maker line, or remove the T-connector and run a new segment. I was installing an expansion tank at the same time so I ran a new segment instead of capping it.

Once the water is disconnected, undo the screws holding the freezer to the surrounding fibreglass and pull out the freezer. This can be a pain because it will want to tip backwards and it needs to be level to slide out. The ice maker is AC, so it's plugged in to a standard outlet inside the cabinet and doesn't require any special tools or knowledge to disconnect...just unplug it.

If it's like my boat, there will already be a pair of DC wires in the cabinet that were originally intended for the fridge. Make sure the fuse for them (labelled as "Refrigerator Aft" on the fuse panel in the cave) has been pulled out, connect to your fridge, re-insert the fuse and confirm everything works). Before you slide the fridge into the cabinet, use some form of weather sealant (butyl tape, Sikaflex, etc.) between the cabinet face and the inside lip of the fridge. Screw it in tight and you're good to go!

Amazing, Shane. Thanks for sharing, and for taking the time to detail the install.

We have the same boat - 2018 R29 CB. Haven’t yet used the ice maker and would get more use from a refrigerator in the cockpit.

I appreciate your help.
