Wiring subwoofer guidance

Hey all — new-ish R-27 owner here (2025 model) and loving it so far. Working on a marine audio upgrade and could use some guidance from folks who know this boat's electrical system better than I do.

I'm installing a self-amplified subwoofer Bazooka MBTA8100 8-Inch 100-Watt Marine Amplified Tube Subwoofer. The manual recommends wiring directly to the battery for power. Rather than landing wires on the battery terminals themselves, I'd like to tap the positive bus bar in the port lazarette — cleaner and safer in my mind, or other recommendations. I also want to run a remote turn-on wire from my Fusion MS-RA210 so the sub shuts off completely when the stereo is off and doesn't drain the house bank. I plan on mounting in the aft end of the coffin so I can remove when the coffin is needed. Any guidance would be very appreciated

I guess it’s all about ensuring cable runs are not over amp limits with a risk of fire.

Get yourself a blue seas double MRBF fuse holder for the bus bar.

Replace one of your single MRBF fuse holders with a double MRBF fuse holder. That’s the best way to get power.

You can run the power, port laz, forward, it comes out under the stove. Then head to starboard with a fish tape and you can run under the passageway. There is a cable raceway that runs under.

It’ll come out in the Velcro cubby in the cave.

To run a cable from the radio in the helm back to the cave, here's how.
Empty your cave, including the cushions, down to the floor. Remove the two ceiling panels on the starboard side. There's 2 screws in each to remove. Square drive. The monkey fur ceiling comes out exposing the wiring overhead.

Put a fish tape up and under the Yamaha throttles. You can reach it from within the cave with the monkey fur ceiling removed.
You can remove the helm seat as well, but for this run, doing it as above I've found works well without taking out the helm seat.

You also have space in the cave that's hidden, under the 120volt AC panel. It looks like this (without the 12volt Starlink stuff pictured). There's a lot of space available there. I installed a 12volt conversion for Starlink there, with an on/off button in the cave.
