Replaced Original Fresh Water Pump! HUGE difference in noise and vibration

I chose the 56A to match the old pump, 5 GPM flow, which imho is very good, specially for the shower. It was a quick process, feel free to send me a message if you want more details about the process, but I can tell you, it was easier than I thought.
That makes sense, thanks! Feel free to send any details. Did the mounting screws line with the original ones?

The screws didn’t match the old pump, so I had to drill new mounting holes, but it was still an easy job.

I chose the SeaFlo 43 because it has the same quick disconnect fittings at the OEM pump. I still replaced the quick disconnect fittings on the hoses (as they had o-rings on. Easier to replace the fitting than replace just the o-rings). Quick tip... When you tug on them they'll be stuck. Use a heat gun to soften the hose and they'll pull right out, easy. And It doesn't take much heat.

The SeaFlo 43 product description says no accumulator needed. I decided to start with the pump as I could always add the accumulator later. Now that it's installed and tested, it's fine. We have solid water pressure and quiet operation without an accumulator.

One other tip... make working on it easy. Remove the lower cabinet door (take the door off at the hinges). Then you can lay down in front of the pump and easily work on it without the doors in the way.

The job is one of the easiest projects on the boat I've done.

Hi Martin - I followed your lead and ordered a Seaflo 43. However, it looks like the one I ordered is a toilet rinse pump.

“43 Series Marine Toilet Rinse Pump - 12V 4.0 GPM 50 PSI, Replacement Raw Water Pump for SFMTE1-04 Quiet Flush Electric Toilet, Self Priming 6 ft Lift, 4-Year Warranty”.

Is this the same model you ordered?

Thank you,
Matt

That is not the one I bought.

This is what I purchased and installed. I have it listed on our Amazon affiliate site under "Boat Parts"

Beautiful. Thanks for the clarification.

My new pump and strainer are still picking up LOTS of plastic shavings from the fresh water tank. I thought I had it all flushed out.

Hey Martin, Was your OEM pump the Jabsco Par-Max 3.5? If so, did you notice much a difference going from 3.5gpm down to 3gpm?

My original pump was the Jabsco Par-Max 3.5. Three things I noticed about changing to the SeaFlo 43 (3gpm).

Pro:
1) The SeaFlo 43 pump is really quiet.
2) The SeaFlo 43 does not need an accumulator. LaZina noted that even with the pump off, it'll fill a dog dish bowl full of water with left over residual water pressure.
3) We use a lot more water on the boat now. Went through 3/4 of a tank of water on a short 4 day trip.

We showered on the boat. Best water pressure ever, smooth, no pulsation, no obnoxious noise, just like at home.

Con:
1) LaZina's now asking me why I didn't upgrade to this pump sooner.

At the rate she's using water, I may need to look into a water maker.

When I looked at upgrading the pump I saw some 5gpm pump's available.
I've only got a 40 gallon freshwater tank on a boat with 3 sinks and 2 showers. 3.0gpm is plenty.
