2020 rt27. Radar mast removal

Anyone know how to get the base plate off the roof ? My master spontaneously disassembled splitting the weld between the posts and the base plate.

There are 6 screws but the must be through bolted because they just spin.

Do I have to remove the wood head strip inside to get to the nuts on the back side? Or is there some other midevil method theyre attached.

I can't get it welded in place and have to remove that base plate.

Thanks I was afraid it was having to remove that "pod" After the screws are out does the sealant cut with a knife, or do I need to pack my oscillating zipsaw ?

I used a knife, and a lot of patience. I would not use a zipsaw, or oscillating saw. It's the sealant, Sikaflex 291 you're cutting. But it's your boat.

could FM have used any more Sikaflex ? I must have cut away half a pound of the stuff in order to remove the cap. The roof is watertight. The "cap" / cover where the mast attaches really only needs enough sealant to keep water and junk from getting into the "seams" and making the roof look ugly.

Once you get it stood back up, add a set of shrouds so it'll not fall down again. As an added bonus, it completely eliminates the noise from it shaking.

With the solid support being on one side only, there's room so our paddle boards have room, and we're not fighting to get them around wires while loading them. Quick and easy to remove for lowering the mast.

Love the look and concept but between shipping and tariffs these are prohibitively expensive. Has anyone found something similar here in the USA?

Following in the Footsteps of Martin Nethkin/ChannelSurfing, we added "shroud Lines" to our 2022 R27OB mast.

We did not have a problem with mast cracking, but a few owners have, therefore we see this a proactive addition.

We used coated 3/16" Stainless Lifeline cable which is larger than needed, but this is a very common size with numerous fitting options.
A slimmer version would be to use 5/32 cable size, but the connector options become limited.
There is also "uncoated" versions" if that look is preferred.

The parts list is as follows:

Following the instructions for removing the coating in order to get required length for the crimped tubing and performing a rough mockup at the boat, we ended up requiring 30.5" overall cable length, with 27" coated material. This was with over 50% of the threaded fittings exposed for future adjustment.
