Groco flush kit adapter for 2108 RTCB ?

Read previous threads on similar flush kit adapters for RT 31 ´s . Looking to place one on our 29RT for the lower Chesapeake Bay / Atlantic waters… we are fairly new owners (2025), boat was previously freshwater (Michigan) … question is the groco adapter best solution and how often to flush or use salt away? Boat is on the hard in oriental nc after sheared shaft while crossing pamlico sound July 4 … thanks for advise

I flush every time I come back to a dock. The only time I don’t flush and leave the system closed is if I’m at anchor. I’ve never used Salt Away.

Besides flushing, it forces me to open the engine hatch and give a quick once over to components post run.

Yes , thanks for replying. Not sure how salty it is where your at so fresh water flushes may be all we need. While on the hard for shaft repair I want the yard to put an inline adapter, I think the same set up will work for my D4-300I 2017 diesel engine. Agreed ?

Yeah, should be the same setup. They might have switched to the integrated Volvo strainer in later years.. Mines a 2018, your 2017 should be identical.

I'm on the Puget Sound, 100% salt water here. There's no need for salt away if you never let salt stick around long enough to build in my opinion. I've never scoped my heater core, but my temps are always locked at 185, even at WOT.
