Seakeeper Ride Keypad Installation Location

I just had a Seakeeper Ride installed on my Ranger R27, and to my surprise, the shop mounted the keypad on the dash. Every install I’ve seen has replaced the trim tab controls. The dealership told me the dash is the recommended location, but I’d prefer it to replace the trim tab controls—it just
makes more sense. Has anyone else had the keypad installed on the dash?

I specifically made sure my pad just replaced the existing trim tab controls. It would drive me nuts if the original control was there but not usable...

When Fluid Motion install these on a new boat they replace the trim tab controls. This seems like a technician who didn’t want to run wires and came up with an excuse to avoid it. You won’t use the pad much but it makes no sense to have a nonfunctional control pad for trim tabs you don’t have.

I’d complain, or 3d print another cup holder or something else useful there to fill the hole for the trim tab controller.

It's not. It's the new version of the Lenco Autoglide.

I was just showing what it could look like if trim tab controls were installed on the dash instead of the normal location where the factory installs them.
Personally, on my boat, the trim tab controls would not go on the dash, and would go where the factory installs them.

good to see Fluid Mo going standard with SKR on some models and optional on others. The C24s really need these - best after market upgrade I've ever done on a boat.....by far.

They installed the Seakeeper Ride keypad here on dash below autopilot, claiming my elbow might hit it underway if in original trim tab location. Really? Who drives that way! More likely the tech was too lazy to run the wires to the original trim-tab location.

They’ve agreed to move it, but now I’m stuck with a hole in the dash. Glass it over? Flush phone charger? Any better ideas?
