Nova Kool cycling frequently

2012 R25 SC. Fridge cools fine, no problem there. But through the night I can hear the compressor cycling. It's very rapid sometimes. Example, in seconds:
0 compressor shuts off
3 starts, runs normal speed, shuts off
4 repeat 3
5 repeat 3
6 starts and runs for some normal period... Several minutes.

All thru the night, I hear many of these false starts when I'm awake. Happens during the day too, but other noises cover it up.

Two ideas.
1. Thermostat has little range between on and off.
2. Bad wiring causing voltage at startup to drop below 10.4 causing a cutout, then with no load voltage rises above 11.7 allowing it to run again, and somehow it occasionally manages to continue running.

Has anyone experienced this behavior?
Should I just throw a new thermostat at it and hope for a fix?

Check your house battery voltage when this is occurring. Perhaps your battery is sulfated causing high resistance and voltage drop. Just a thought.

House battery is lithium, it delivers 13.3 to 13.1 overnight

We have a '15 C28 with the blue hull. In the afternoon & evening sun if we are facing north with the sun on the port side it gets it really hot inside of the hull behind the cabinets & refer. This causes the refer to run non stop till 1AM or later consuming hideous amount of amp hrs. I have a line with a heavy snap on it I clip on the anchor rode, let it sink & pull back to an aft cleat moving the port side out of direct sun. BIG difference. I put a switch near port fwd seat as well to switch refer off w/o opening it & altering chosen setting. Wish hull was white, initially bc it shows every blem or water spot, and now after owning for 11 years additionally bc of the heat the dark hull color invites. Great boat once we got used to & comfortable with it being slow & unable to plane. FM says it will do 28! Maybe with minimal fuel, no water and a tiny person at the helm!

Blue hull too. With sun on that side it runs continuously, it's cool days and overnight that it cycles excessively.

If your fridge is a nova cool you may have a problem with a defective speed resistor. I had an issue that sounds like what you indicate and ended up removing the resistor which fixed the issue. You can unplug the resistor and then plug the wire directly to the connector on the fridge.The cooling fan speed runs lower without the resistor, so I ordered a new resistor. And the diagram and the photo of the back the resistor is plugged into the T connection.
