AC loosing prime

Just purchased a 2019 C242. I'm keeping the boat on a lift and I loose prime to the AC each time I drop it in. I understand there is a valve you can install to prevent this from happening. Can anyone elaborate on this. Reading everything I can find to learn the boat. Purchased the boat from a broker so I'm going through growing pains.

Hi there,

Good news is that you don't even need to install the valve, as it's already there. The valve is in the main compartment in the cockpit. Just open the hatch and you will see two seacocks straight below you. One will be for the wash-down pump (easy to trace) and the other is for the AC. Simply close that valve before you lift the boat and you will be fine. Just remember to open it once you get the boat back into the water, before using the AC. Hope this helps.
