Found an excellent hypolon tender at costco for under $500. WOW. Five Star tated. Wondering about using a tender that is 10' 10" on wraver davits on an 8' 6" beam R 25 SC

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Could be awkward when docking. I wanted no overhand and went with a 7'7"Achilles tender on my C28.

Are you sure it's hypalon construction? All I see at Costco is a 10'10" pvc inflatable for $599 with a high pressure air keel. I'd be afraid of an air keel on rocky beaches. And the inflatable hanging out 15" on each side or 30" on one side would be a problem for me. Do you have a link to the one you saw?

On the water I think you can use a dinghy slightly bigger than the boat without docking problems because the fenders add some width. I think 9.5 feet would be the absolute max. 10' 10" is a no go in my opinion.

An inflable floor is also no go in the Salish Sea due the rocks and barnacles. Maybe if you were only using it on lakes you could get away with it.

We carry a 13ft inflatable kayak on the swimstep of our R25 classic. As others have pointed out, we have to shift it to the roof rack or tow it alongside prior to coming to the dock. Also we can't run faster than hull speed with it on the step due to the ends of the inflatable hitting the water. The 25 squats in a pretty deep hole when running at higher speeds. With the tender in question you may have to tow it when running. Or devise a mounting system that raises it a foot or so above the swimstep. That's on my list of projects for this season but I haven't given it much thought yet so don't have any concrete suggestions.
