Rich and Nancy here! I'm really happy to be able to communicate with other boat owners. I am new to this. My 1991 R21 is the first boat I have ever owned and I am 60 years old. I purchased it about a year ago from the original owner who personally negotiated with Howard Smith, known as "Smitty," apparently the boss at the Ranger Boat Company at the time, for a "Standard boat" with a few additional options and a price $19,389 on March 22,19991, equiped withan 18hp Volvo Penta engine. Christened the Betty J,It's a beaut.Everyone who sees it wants to talk about it or buy it! Including me. I saw it in my rounds 15 years ago as the Animal Control Officer in Corvallis, Oregon. Eight years later I had a chance to speak with the owner and said that if he ever wished to sell it, I would be interested. Well, Betty passed away and Dana offered to sell her to me. My heart pounded when I got that call!

Perfectly taken care of and all set up, I can't wait to learn how to work my new digital camera and apost a picture on this website. It has a solid wood mast and boom which really accentuates the original Bristol Bay design. We have cruised the Yaquina Bay, Alsea Bay, and the Fern Ridge Resevoir. This summer we would like to cruise Lake Chelan all the way to Stahekin. The Lake is 55 miles long! This could be a blast. I'm hoping to add a Bimini top and a front railing and a swim platform to have it ready for that environment. If anybody has any ideas on those additions I would be happy to hear about it. And by the way, Thanks to Ranger Tugs for providing this site. I like the hat. Rich
