2007 21EC Ranger Tug

I recently purchased a 2007 21EC Ranger Tug and have a question regarding the wiring between the selector switch and the batteries. My understanding is that the selector switch isolates the batteries. Position 1 goes to the # 1 battery, position 2 to the # 2 battery, position 1/2 to both batteries and Off shuts them both off. I can start the engine in the off position which indicates that the batteries are not configured correctly in relation to the switch.
The previous owner indicated that was how it was wired from the factory. Would like a definitive reading on this and a wiring diagram if available

The engine has never been wired through the switch on the R21. This is the reason why we went to a single position on/off switch on the R21. Your wiring diagrams available for download in the technical bulletins section.

An additional comment. The switch is for the house battery only. It is either on or off.
