I need to get under the headliner in the helm area on my R25 classic. Before I start pulling things apart I thought I'd ask if there are any photos available that show how the headliner is installed. And how is the mouse fur attached around the hatches? Is it glued or simply pinched under the hatch trim?

Dan, on our MY 2009 (08 build) we do not have mouse fur for a ceiling headliner it more like a faux vinyl with perforations. That said, the material around the hatches is pinched under the trim cover. When I rotated the forward helm and passenger hatches 90°to get better air circulation found the material to be tucked under the trim. I have dropped the ceiling several times for various projects but only from the section just above table back. The forward panel runs up and under the teak storage area above the helm and will be somewhat difficult to drop. Again, what I found on the cabin ceiling panels it all drops down as a solid panel. Do not have to remove material. The screws holding the ceiling panels in place are located under the teak trim strips which run length ways. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks, Mike. I've had the teak storage "cabinet" loose. Just a couple of screws hold it to the headliner. On the aft end of the helm overhead section the liner also runs under the teak trim. What do the screws go into that hold the liner to the cabin roof? Are there glassed in stringers? Firring strips glued overhead? All I can tell so far is that the liner is not flat against the cabin roof i.e. there is space between. I'd simply pull it apart and look but don't want to start until our season is done. So trying to plan out the job somewhat blind.

Hi Dan, you are correct, we install wood to the cabin rooftop to secure the headliner panels to. As Mike stated the trim rings beneath the hatches hold the panel up around the hatch, and all other mounting screws can be found under the teak trim pieces.
