I was adjusting the stuffing box nut yesterday and noticed that the black hose sealing the stuffing box to the fiberglass frame moved slightly. It began to leak at the junction with the fiberglass. I tightened the 2 hose clamps and the leak stopped. My question is, should a sealer (e.g., 4200) be used between the black hose and the fiberglass (when the boat is out of the water) or just rely on the 2 hose clamps?
