The autopilot can’t find the controller. Just had some work done on the boat and the refrigerator was pulled out. First time out after the above error happened. The chart plotter is working correctly. It might be the connection to the CCU is loose. My question is where is the CCU located?

Another question is where does the flux gate compass tie in?

Anchored in Creek on the Chesapeake looking for help when I get home later today.

On our 2012 R29 the CCU and flux gate are a single unit. It's a black ball mounted behind the bottom galley drawers just aft of the refrigerator. There is a calibration wizard you need to run after reconnecting.
It's possible that the unit simply lost power and needs to be rebooted.

I have had to on occasion power all off disconnect all the auto pilot connections from the back of the GOS
Then wait a few min .. re connect and all works.. and usually after being with out power for an extended time . Be careful as the little pins can bend easy

All,

Thanks for the input. A power reset fixed the problem. First had the refrigerator pulled to check that the CCU connections were ok. Seems I keep learning more about all the systems every time something goes wrong. I was a little confused about the CCU/ flux gate compass. On my last boat, a liner drive unit, it just had a flux gate compass. A lot of it is different terminology than I've been used to.

Again thanks for all of you input/help.
