Several recent threads have ask what is new for 2013 on the 21EC. We got the first one delivered to use in Lake Park, Fl. on 24 July 2012.

I attended the Miami Boat Show on Monday and had a look at the 21EC they had at the show. The most obvious addition is a table which mounts to the rear of the engine box, which has been reinforced to handle the weight. The 45 degree stainless leg removes for storage on clips inside the lazarette. The table has a cover for storage or it can remain on while the table is in deployed.

The helm seat is now mounted to a sliding track on a piece of starboard which uses the same type of hardware to store out of the way. when in place the seat can be moved forward or all the way to the rear bulkhead in the cabin. I am 6'2/210 and had no problem getting my legs between the wheel and seat. The seat slides over the top of the frig without hitting the top wooden cover.

The bow thruster control has been moved off the wooden dash area and installed behind the throttle control, a much better location.

The Yanmar control engine control panel also looks new.

I was told the red Ranger 21 on display had been sold to a home in Ft Laud, Fl. I hope the new owners enjoy the boat as much as we have.

We are at 95 hours in less than six months and will look into having some of these new features added to our boat.

Great job by Ranger always updating when needed.

Phil, thanks for posting this. That's the first time I've seen the cockpit table, and I'd really like to add one to my boat. I'm talking with Ranger Tugs about buying one.

Please post the results for your negotiation for the table purchase......the Admiral saw it and got all excited...

Per Ranger Tugs, the table kit with all hardware is $500. Seems reasonable. The table is teak veneer with solid teak trim.
Per Dalee62, the engine box requires substantial plywood reinforcement, more than the factory recommends.

For our 2010 21EC tug we are in the process of making a perspex "table" to go from the cup holder on the engine cover to a bracket fixed to the rear seat. I haven't finished yet, but will post some pictures of the work in progress shortly.
The only fixture to the boat is the fibreglass angle that I have attached to the rear seat. The angle needs to be painted white because the original colour is red. I intend to put some aluminium angle down each side of the perspex to add some strength and also provide a lip to stop things sliding off the table.

I will be interested to see Tugalong's project table photos.

I put my name on the waiting list today for the Ranger table, seems it has become a hot item with a short waiting period for supply to catchup with demand.

We hit six months and 105 engine hours since our 2013 21EC hit the water in Lake Park, Fl. after bottom painting.

That table is sure purty, but the admiral and I are happy with our $90 (incl shipping) table. We got the rectangular table with the flush floor mount (to prevent tripping) part number DetMar 12-1107C http://www.detmarcorp.com/tableslr.htm. I installed it on the step by the rear bench. Using a hole saw and drill, I had it installed in less than 30 minutes. With the table fore and aft, it is like an end table. With the table side-to-side, The admiral can sit on the bench and I can sit on the engine cover to eat our meals, play cards, etc. I bought the table on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...ble+Rectangular+Marine/RV+Table&condition=new

It looks like the helm chair adjusts fore and aft. That is nice. I have mixed feeling about moving the thruster controller. It would be nice if the tachometer could be moved to the dash.
