Several recent threads have ask what is new for 2013 on the 21EC. We got the first one delivered to use in Lake Park, Fl. on 24 July 2012.
I attended the Miami Boat Show on Monday and had a look at the 21EC they had at the show. The most obvious addition is a table which mounts to the rear of the engine box, which has been reinforced to handle the weight. The 45 degree stainless leg removes for storage on clips inside the lazarette. The table has a cover for storage or it can remain on while the table is in deployed.
The helm seat is now mounted to a sliding track on a piece of starboard which uses the same type of hardware to store out of the way. when in place the seat can be moved forward or all the way to the rear bulkhead in the cabin. I am 6'2/210 and had no problem getting my legs between the wheel and seat. The seat slides over the top of the frig without hitting the top wooden cover.
The bow thruster control has been moved off the wooden dash area and installed behind the throttle control, a much better location.
The Yanmar control engine control panel also looks new.
I was told the red Ranger 21 on display had been sold to a home in Ft Laud, Fl. I hope the new owners enjoy the boat as much as we have.
We are at 95 hours in less than six months and will look into having some of these new features added to our boat.
Great job by Ranger always updating when needed.
