That sounds good if I do 21 what should the cup be.. would love to be at 3100 rpm 3200 rpm and 25 mph but I don’t think that’s possible unless also adding larger trim tabs not sure what I need to get it quicker and spec rpm thanks for the response appreciate it…..Quick answer on this is from the factory the 23 pitch prop was great if you’ve got no fresh water half a tank of fuel, no gear and like 2 people on board. If you want to actually use your boat loaded. Re-pitch to 21. You’ll lose a little bit of top end but you’ll be able to cruise at 18-20 knots with out over loading the engine. Iv been considering sending in my 23 pitch prop to get re pitched to 22 or 21 with some cup.
Currently running a 21 pitch and it solved all my issues.
your gonna want to upgrade to the 12x18 trim tabs for sure. As for adding cup to the 21 pitch prop I’m not sure mine has hardly any at all. I’d have to look back into the specs on the prob but it’s almost negligible. I’d say start off with 21 pitch zero cup see how that runs if your over revving with a moderate load then look into adding some pitch or cup. 22 pitch could be the happy medium on these boats. It’s really hard because of house weight sensitive they are. Also having a clean bottom makes a big difference. That sounds good if I do 21 what should the cup be.. would love to be at 3100 rpm 3200 rpm and 25 mph but I don’t think that’s possible unless also adding larger trim tabs not sure what I need to get it quicker and spec rpm thanks for the response appreciate it…..
The only time Iv seen 25 mph/ 21-22 knots at the 3150rpm (+-50). Is coming home from a weekend trip light on fuel light on water. Just the wife and I and the dogs. And really that was with the 23 pitch prob that excelled in achieving higher top speeds but only when running light. Running light the best WOT I saw was 27knotsThat sounds good if I do 21 what should the cup be.. would love to be at 3100 rpm 3200 rpm and 25 mph but I don’t think that’s possible unless also adding larger trim tabs not sure what I need to get it quicker and spec rpm thanks for the response appreciate it…..
Wow I didn’t think the boat can get there but thats promising. I wanted to rule out any mechanical issues so I already cleaned all the coolers which is a pretty major service that lots of people don’t do and changed all fuel filters and bottom of the boat is spotless so to me it has to be a prop isssie because mechanicaly it’s as good as it can get I even put a new water pump new Impellers so I appreciate all the info and will just adjust prop and keep modifying u till I get some good results with normal load on the boat….any other tips is greatly appreciated….The only time Iv seen 25 mph/ 21-22 knots at the 3150rpm (+-50).
