Hi,

I bought as 2014 C-28 with the V.P. D4-260 ENGINE.
Can you tell me what the cruising rpms should be verses W.O.T. ?
Can I change out the prop. size in order to get better performance rather than Fuel efficiency ?
Also do you have a conversion kit to convert from raw water to fresh water head ?

Please let me know.

Thanks you,
Joe Lucido

Use the search function on this site. There is a lot of good information. I just plugged in "c28 rpm wot" and found 18 different threads. Good luck.

Hey Joe,

Typically cruising RPM's would be between 2600-3000RPM's, that gives you good water speed and fuel efficiency. You can change the prop but I will tell you that the prop used is giving you the best of both worlds, allows you to get up and going with fully loaded boat and also allows for WOT. By changing the prop you can lose the ability to cruise at a proficient speed/fuel economy. For the head we do not have a "kit" but this should be something that a local service shop could do for you. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Great,
Thanks Kevin,
Your quick response was most appreciated.

The fresh water head conversion kit is available through Raritan, if that is the make of your head. Call them and make sure you tell them you are a "Tugnut" as they made up a kit just for our group.
I just did mine before leaving for the Keys and it worked perfectly! It runs around $200+, can't remember the exact price, but was well worth it, IMO. You will also need to get a few feet of 1/2" I'd braided water hose, a tee and some clamps to complete the project.
