Been looking at a variety of used boat websites and have not seen any used 2014 Ranger 29s for sale. Have I just been missing them, or were there very few manufactured that year?

I do not know the production numbers, but that was when the factory was transitioning to the 29S

I'm specifically looking for a late model Classic Ranger 29, so perhaps 2013 was the last year those were made?

I think Farallone yacht sales in alameda,ca has one

Checked their website, and the 29 which they have is a 2010.

I have one...2013 volvo diesel...low hours don't use it much...also have the trailer..

What is the differance between the classic and the "S"?

The R29 Classic would be the original design, that is not made anymore. Whereas the R29S is the new and more contemporary design currently in production.

Thanks Jim, that is big help. I am trying to sort through the different boats/options, then present my case to the wife. In the start of my search, I asked in my first post, what differences were in the year to year boats. I got a great answer in that it is nearly impossible to sort it out, as the tug is constantly evolving--even during mid year. I'm such a nit-noid that I try to put everything in a spread sheet, then make some decisions from that.
Smokeyham, I have looked at the NADA price guide and it doesn't list the 29S until 2015, so according to them it wasn't available till 2015.
I've also noticed on the NADA guide that the values seem to drop about 10k a year. It must level out somewhere I just haven't put enough effort into it yet. Does anyone have any good sites to figure prices?

I looked at NADA Guides when I was looking to purchase too. Turns out they are not very accurate due to the relatively small number of Tugs sold each year. I suspect NADA just uses a depreciation formula from the original MSRP of each model year to come up with used prices - it's too linear!
I'd recommend a creating spreadsheet with every boat listed on Yachtworld and Tugnuts taking into account extras like trailer, A/C, generator, navigation package and such as well as engine hours by model year. That will give you better idea of the possible value of one specific boat's asking price compared to the others out there. I was looking for either a R25 Classic, R25SC or C26 and had about 40 boats on my spreadsheet at any given time.

What is odd to me is that I have not seen a single 2014 Ranger 29 Classic listed on various boats-for-sale websites. I do see 2013 and prior year models.

Were the Ranger 29 Classiscs not made that year, or perhaps only a few were made and the used ones have not yet come on the market?

Smokeyham, you're right! We're in the process of buying a '14 R29 classic but only because we stumbled upon it in conversation when I called Andrew at the Kent factory for the first time. I was researching the various years of classic 29's and he mentioned that he just got a '14 in on trade. He made such a compelling argument that we decided to put in an offer. We get to lay eyes on her tomorrow! I've not seen any others for sale up to this point nor do I know how many were produced. I'll ask him tomorrow. Good luck in your search!

Glad to hear that they do exist! Yes.... if you could ask Andrew, I would be very interested to know how many were made.

I believe the 2013 and 2014 were the years when they did away with a separate fuel tank for the generator, and had both feed off one main tank, which is one of the features I like.

I am a couple of years out from buying, but am very interested in the 2013 & 14 model years.

Only 10 2014 R29's were made.

Thanks so much! I suspect those will keep much sought after boats!

We purchased a 2014 R29C this year in Port Alberni British Columbia Canada from Port Boat House. They are a large Ranger Tug Dealer and sell lots of Ranger Tugs. There is no duty on the Rangers because they are produced in the USA. We used a Boat title agency in Anacortes WA to do the paperwork which worked out nicely because all of the paperwork was crystal correct and no problem bringing the boat into the US. The currency exchange rate also favors the USA at this time. Good luck in finding a R-29 We love ours. Paul and Sue Boat "PUFFIN"

Congratulations on your Ranger 29 Classic! Thanks for the tip about purchasing in Canada, especially with the favorable exchange rate.
