Yesterday went to the boat and the batteries were down, and the charger was not working. Did charge the batteries by starting the engine. Trying to debug the situation. I know others have experienced the failure of the unit. Before I start tearing things apart I want to make sure the unit has failed. I cannot find a breaker that sits between the inverter and the shore power...
The ProMariner Combi 2500QS panel light are all off when there is 120 volts shore power on the boat. The remote control shows no shore power. The AC panel shows that the Shore power is active on the boat. The AC panel does NOT have a breaker for the inverter/charger. The Schematic users guide shows the power going to the AC panel, seems unlikely without a breaker.
THe manual explicitly calls for a breaker, and other Ranger Tug's show the breaker on the AC panel. Tried tracing the wires, but the get burried into the wire harness, so I can't follow them without starting to take things apart.
Know where the charging relays are (near the Batteries), but looking to the shore power side breaker. ANY ideas where it might be?
