September 23-27 - Roche Harbor, San Juan Island

Let's make this year's rendezvous for Ranger Tug and Cutwater Boat owners even bigger than 2014. Once again, we've got the entire Roche Harbor Marina guest dock reserved for us. Like last year, the marina docking crew will be on hand to assist, and there will be plenty of power, and plenty of room.

This year's theme is Mardis Gras with Louisiana-styled catered dinners on Friday and Saturday, and prizes for best decorated boat and best costume, so gather up your NOLA finest and come ready to party.

Start training for the 2nd annual Blindfolded Dinghy Race. This year we'll have several heats and prizes. And plan on wetting a line for the 2nd annual Rendezvous Fishing Tournament. Oh, don't forget about the 2nd annual Cornhole Tournament - will Mark and Beth be able to defend their title?

This year we'll be offering informational seminars from Garmin, Volvo, and others to be announced. Roche Harbor's Chef will conduct a demonstration on preparing appetizers and meals in a galley environment. And, we'll have more vendors than ever showing and demonstrating their wares.

The planning is well underway, but the final schedule is still a work in progress. The entire schedule, in all its detail, will be posted when we've got it nailed down. Watch for updates here on Tugnuts.

Roche Harbor Marina has offered free moorage on Wednesday, Sept 23 for boats registered for the rendezvous. During registration please indicate your arrival day.

Registration is now open.

I have just registered also. See you there! Jeanie

Man, you guys know how to live. I have a Nordic Tug and went to one rendezvous in Roche Harbor. Pretty boring to be honest. I wish the Nordic guys would take a few lessons on how to have fun from Tugnuts. Mardi Gras would be fantastic but I suspect this years 'vouz will be the same boring lectures and then the usual Q&A with Nordic factory reps on why Nordic isn't able to sell more boats etc etc.

I may have to defect ....

Well, what you need to tell Nordic is that like real estate making a sale depends on the three L,s. .. .. .. Location, location, location of the wallet.
Build a product at the price point the market wants and it will sell.
I like Nordics, was on one recently, but for the money there are better compromises out there.
What the majority of Tugnuts prize is the ability to throw it on the trailer and go anywhere, Key West to Glacier Bay as one of our group did . I just pulled the boat from Michigan at 9F that morning to two and a half day slater I'm sitting in the cockpit at 72 F in Florida.
So it is not a Nordic - thank goodness.

Cheers

Agree with your original statement regarding price point. I love my Nordic - bought it used so the price point was not as a big a deal. My two primary thoughts regarding Nordic's inability to sell more boats are one, the head guys at the factory don't understand marketing and two, the dealer in Anacortes has serious integrity issues.

I considered a new Nordic factory built but gave up after trying to work with the factory. They have a "my way or the highway attitude". They don't understand that in this economy, the factory and the buyer have to meet in the middle regarding customs and changes. I gave up and now looking at other options for a bigger tug.

The dealer in Anacortes - what can I say they - not a place I would trust to buy a new or used tug from given recent service experience.

We are registered. Can't Wait!!!

Spinner is registered!! See you all at Roche Harbor!

Pat and Sharon with Safari are registered. This will be our first rendezvous so we are excited!

Greetings Tugnuts,

We currently have 34 boats registered (29 Ranger Tugs & 5 Cutwater Boats) with a total of 71 people.

That's a great start on what will be our largest rendezvous ever, especially considering we didn't start last year's registration until the 21st of April.

It's not too soon to nail down your cruising plans, and it's hard to beat the San Juan Islands as a fall destination.

Register here!

Cheers,

Bruce

Hello everyone,

We are registered! This will be our first Rendezvous...or even community boating event for us...in our recently delivered, still getting sorted, "Hey Andrew/Ronnie how does this work again?" or "What's that noise?", and trying not to scratched the paint on our R-31CB we have named 'The Long Ranger'.

Love the camaraderie of Tugnuts, and we are really looking forward to the live-action version of that in Roche Harbor and meeting the new Ranger Tug extended family!

Cheers

Hey Chris,
Welcome to the family. Be prepared to have the time of your life. Last year was our first rendezvous and we could not believe how much fun it was. To any that may be sitting on the fence on whether to go or not, this is not an event to be missed.

We are register as well, first rendezvou. Never been to Roche harbor. Doing some research now on what to pack, etc. [emoji295]️

We are registered. Looking forward to going on our first rendezvou with our boat Safari and meeting new friends.

Hi all,
We just learned of your Cutwater boats from a friend who saw one at the Bremerton marina and told us about it. What a nice looking line of boats!

We haven't registered because we have a summer home on San Juan isl. and will be up there when this rendezvous is taking place. Although we'll be sans boat, should we register anyway so you can expect us for the festivities?

Greetings,

We'd love to see you at the rendezvous. If you'd like to attend our events and meals, you're welcome to register. It's the best way to learn about the boats - from owners. Plus, you'll have a great time.

Cheers,

Bruce

OK. I looked at the registration. Just to be clear if there's 2 of us, I should register with 1 crew member. Correct?

My bad. I'd seen the 7/24 Roche Harbor rendezvous and confused it with this one. , We can make the July date but not this one as we'll be in the Chesapeake on a bareboat charter. We may see some of you all in July.

UPDATE: the factory is pleased to announce Volvo-Penta will be offering a diesel maintenance seminar on Thursday - once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Yanmar and Volvo owners are welcome to attend.

Registered owners should email Sara Livingston ( receptionist@rangertugs.com ) to reserve a spot. Please indicate which session you'd like to attend. If you're not registered yet, it's a great time to get the rendezvous on your calendar.

Cheers,

Bruce
