Hello all,

It may seem early, but I figured I would let all those who may be interested, that the 2015 Southwest Rendezvous is scheduled from: arrival date February 6th to departure to Cayo Costa on February 9th. It will be held again at the Palm Island Marina in Placida. Florida. We had a great turnout last year and several participants have already signed up. There is a limit of approximately 20 boats, so I encourage those interested to contact Carol Whittier at gipetto58@gmail.com to make a reservation. All reservations must be done through Carol, please do not contact the marina directly.
We have not put together a cost per person yet, but last year it was $105.00 per person. We will attempt to keep it close to that price and as soon as we get things together we will let you know the exact amount.
Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at mrizzo8743@aol.com.
As things develop I will make additional posts.
Hope to see you there,
Mike Rizzo

Hello everyone,

As we approach the date for the 2015 Southwest Florida, February 6th through February 9th, it is important that you notify Carol Whittier at gipetto58@gmail.com to let her know that you want to attend. We have space for 20 boats, so the sooner you let her know your intent to attend the better. The cost per person is $105.00. This includes the drinks at the pot luck, one day of breakfast, lunch and dinner and then a Sunday pizza party. Garmin will be there as well as Prism Polish, the Auxilary Coast Guard to do inspections as well as prizes and raffle and other presentations . The comraderie and sharing is always a given.
We are still working on the agenda and as things progress I will be making posts.

Until then, stay warm!

Mike Rizzo

Mike,

Thanks to you and Carol for organizing this event and to the others that are helping. Having attended all prior Southwest Rendezvous in Florida, I can say to others that it is well worth attending.

Laurie and I really enjoyed this rendezvous. Mike and Jess, Rich and Cheryll, and Carol did a great job! We have organized two of the PNW tug rendezvous and know a high class operation when we see it. Andiamo will be back on Puget Sound so we will be missing this one. 20 boats is a great size; large enough for variety and good presentations and yet small enough to meet everyone and make new friends.

I am confused about the name, the Southwest Rendezvous typically means California, Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Texas. I can just see our tug on the Colorado River. Shouldn't this be the Southeast Rendezvous or the Florida Rendezvous? Maybe because we are from the "Left Coast" we have this perspective? Just wondering.

You know when you are a true Floridian when the "West Coast" is no longer California, Oregon, or Washington... It is Tampa, St Pete, Sarasota, Naples, etc...... All parts of SW Florida's SW Coast!

Glad to hear you and Laurie are once again going to be plying the waters of the PNW. Welcome Home

Sorry John,
When I started the thread I should have said Southwest Florida. Hopefully people won't be going to New Mexico for this one.
