The island queen is too firm! What are folks doing for a mattress topper to fit the curved shape? What is the best product to use on a boat for a topper?

The factory uses a proprietary special blend of fiber cement for the v-berth cushions. It’s a pain to remove and replace so most just add a topper. Usually 3-4” memory foam or latex foam topper depending on taste and how high you can tolerate the top of the mattress height. You can get different densities of foam to suit your sleeping needs.
I have even slept in a sleeping bag on top of a 3” medium density twin foam mattress on the cockpit floor in good weather and been very comfortable.
Foam mattresses can be easily cut to fit unusual shapes and two large sections can be glued together if necessary.
Amazon and https://www.thefoamfactory.com/
are where I have purchased foam for our boats.

Hey, thanks for that! Now we just need to decide a density...what do you think is a good density for most people comfort wise?

You will typically get a density rating for foam in pounds per cubic square foot going from 1.5 pounds to 8.0 pounds or more
i’d suggest calling The Foam Factory and discuss your specific needs (weight, height, side or front/back sleeper, etc.) to see what they recommend. I trust their judgement.

decided on 3 " 4lb foam topper, thanks again!
