That is right, it is not a misprint. The 2016 Southwest Florida Rendezvous is scheduled for February 5th Arrival day to February 8th departure day. It will be held again at the Palm Island Marina in Placida, Florida. Space is limited so anyone who has interest, e-mail that you are interested as soon as possible. At this juncture no financial commitment is necessary. However, getting you name on the list will keep you in the loop of correspondence and spots will be saved accordingly. Jessica Rizzo is handling correspondence and sign up this year. Please e-mail her at jessa35@aol.com with your name and any other attendee. Once things start to jell and an absolute commitment is needed then you will be contacted for further information.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones next year!

Mike Rizzo

Mike;
Did you mean March or April instead of Feb.?
Don

Mike,
That's a long way off, but please keep me in the loop (I'm a relatively new west Florida Ranger Tug owner) for information on the rendezvous.
Cheers, Patrece Colburn , "Just Right"

Nope February. Notice, it is 2016. I always get a date set right after the current Rendezvous to lock in the marina. Also if people are interested they can put it on their schedule and get on an e-mail correspondence list so they are in the loop as things develop.

February is a nice time to cross the Okeechobee Waterway from the East Coast - the rendezvous sounds fine for me. Any other "left coast" folks planning the trip?

This weekend backs up to the Miami boat show. First time in the newly restored Miami Marina.

Please keep me in the loop. The Okeechobee waterway would be my route from the East coast.

Hello everyone,

Just a bit of housekeeping here so we are all on the same page regarding reservations at Palm Island. Below is information from Tim Lynch the manager of palm island. The long and short of it is if you are interested in making reservations contact Jessica Rizzo - jessa35@aol.com Do not contact the Marina directly.

There have been NO changes in rates or procedures
pertaining to the Tug Nuts Rendezvous at Palm Island Marina this year. Just to
review, the Palm Island Marina 2016 Tug Nuts monthly in-water special for this
year is as follows:

$16.00 per foot each full month
Plus electric
($35.00/30amp or $70.00/50amp each month)
Waive the 30' minimum size
requirement charge
Waive the $100 Live aboard charge
Waive the $20.00 cable TV
charge

We request that all Tug Nuts participants (even the monthly/long term
ones) make reservations through Jessica Rizzo so that we know who will be part of
the Rendezvous and can place them accordingly. Additionally, it should be known
that the monthly (long term) Tug Nuts participants will more than likely be
placed on our "E" dock all together (and not our transient A, B, C docks). The E
docks, as you recall, are still in our front basin.

Our daily group rate for the Rendezvous is $1.90 per foot
each night with a 26' minimum.

For long term slip trailer storage:
MarineMax, does have a fenced in lot
that they rent spots for $35.00 per month for trailers, or $65.00 per month for
boats on trailers. If interested, you can contact MarineMax Venice to arrange
room for your boat at the MarineMax Cape Haze location: 941-485-3388 and contact
Lori White.

There is a launching ramp down the street from us, but if you
need help launching your boat we can take your boat off your trailer with our
forklift and then reload it for $100.00 round-trip.

We do not have long-term
secure trailer storage, so contact MarineMax (above) to store your trailer with
them while your boat is in the water. We can, however, store trailers for the
actual 3 day Tug Nuts Rendezvous on our property in a temporary short-term
unsecured lot.

If you plan to have Palm Island Marina launch your boat,
please call 941-697-4356 to make trailer launch reservations-- we do not take
walk-up launches.

Below is a link to get the sign up sheet for the Rendezvous. The sheet has all the information and where to send it. We are asking that you return it by 12/31 to give us time to order the supplies and give an exact count to the caterer.

We are limited to 28 slips and there has been quite a few who have already made a commitment. So the sooner you get your form in the better, otherwise there may be no room at the marina. Unless we receive your form you are not signed up. Those coming by car have a few choices of places to stay within 5 miles, but you should probably make reservations now to make sure you get a room.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Mike Rizzo

Just keeping this in the forefront. We have gotten a great response so far. So if you are interested in attending make sure you do so by 12/31. The marina has limited space, so if you plan on attending by boat, the sooner you sign up he better.
See the link in the above post to access the attendance form.

Have a great holiday everyone!

Mike Rizzo

Hey there, guys, it's my first post here, hello and greetings from Chicago! As it happens, me and my wife will be moving out to Pompano Beach, FL to live at the new Sabbia Beach Condos next year and I would very much like to attend with a few of my buddies. I just wanted to ask if this is a kind of an annual event and how the community is like. All the best, Jeremy 🙂

It has been annual for the last five years. It has always been a great time and has grown from about 6 tugs the first year to 23 this year.

Hi,

It might be fun if everyone attending the rendezvous registers their boats on eBoatCards so we can see the group converge as we arrive. Free, full of useful stuff.
