2017 Lake Michigan Rendezvous

For those attending the Lake Michigan Rendezvous, in Charlevoix Michigan, by land (only 2 months away) and in need of hotel reservations I found that "The Lodge" in Charlevoix has reasonably priced rooms available (only 4 remain as of today). The Lodge is conveniently located and only a short walk to the marina where most activities are being held.

With less then 2 months until the Lake Michigan Ranger Tug/Cutwater Rendezvous in Charlevoix Michigan I wanted to alert those not signed up yet about two items. Number one: you have until June 23rd to reserve your marina dockage for the slips we have being held for our event. After that date any slips not reserved for our group will be released to the general public. I've attached the memo for making reservations below.

Number two: Because we have until June 23rd to make slip reservations the deadline for sending me your registration form is extended to around that same date.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to post here, PM me, email or call me. We're looking forward to having a great event and welcome you to participate, meet old friends and make new ones.


So, here are that updated instructions for you to give to your group:

Subject line must be: Ranger Tug Rendezvous – (boat name)

Email text should include the following:
1. Customer Name
2. Boat name
3. Length of the boat
4. Beam
5. Draft

NOTE: The only dates that are guaranteed are the ones for the event. If a boater wants to stay longer or come in earlier, they will need to make a separate reservation for that. If they make a separate reservation, they will have an opportunity to add comments during the reservation process, please note in the comment field, “We are part of the Ranger Tugs Rendezvous and arriving (early) or (staying later).”


It is very important to get the subject line correct. Christa receives many emails daily and does not want to have one of these get buried in an inbox. Christa must receive notification, no later than June 23rd.

Update and headcount for upcoming Lake Michigan Rendezvous in Charlevoix Michigan. We'll be having a presentation from Global Marine on boat insurance, a tour of an over the top boat house, great food and camaraderie plus so much more so if your name is not on this list you have until June 23rd to sign up for this July 31, August 1 & 2 event. Attention Ranger Tug, Cutwater owners or wannabes: although we are sold out for being officially registered for the Rendezvous we'd still like you to stop by and say hello if you are in or around Charlevoix Michigan on July 31, Aug 1 & 2. Its a good opportunity to visit with fellow Tugnutters and see the 18 Ranger Tugs/Cutwaters that will be in attendance.

Our summer Rendezvous in Charlevoix Michigan is in the rearview mirrors of our mind and what a fun time we had. We definitely enjoyed our time at the northern rendezvous. We met a group of great people, thoroughly enjoyed our first on-the-water RT experience with Dan & Connie on their R27 Alegria, learned some more about the Ranger Tugs, and couldn't say "Wow!" enough during the tour of John & Zita Winn's boathouse in beautiful Charlevoix.
Thank you to Jim & Lisa for organizing the rendezvous, to the other attendees for making us feel welcome even though we don't have a RT yet, to the sponsors including Fluid Motion for helping defray the cost of the rendezvous, and to John & Zita for opening their incredible boathouse to us.
We're looking forward to next year when the northern rendezvous is expected to be held in our backyard, the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario.
