Hello Everyone,

This year we will be having a "Gathering" at Pope's Island Marina -102 Pope's Island, New Bedford, MA Phone - 508-979-1456.

Brian Beltrami took a ride to the marina to check out the place and there is plenty to do and see.

This year our format will be somewhat different. There will be no formal presentations. Just getting together to shoot the breeze and share wisdom. The dates are set for Arrival on August 4th with departure on August 6th. Our plan will be to have a pot luck dinner on the evening of the 4th. On the 5th a boat crawl at 4:00 pm and docktails at 5:30 pm. Your reservations are to be made directly with the marina. Just so we know who will be coming and so that I can prepare a contact list for everyone to share, please e-mail me at mrizzo8743@aol.com. Please include your name, travel companions' name, boat name, boat type, e-mail address and phone number.

GANSETT RANGER will be there. Can't wait to see old friends and meet new ones. Lots to see in the Whaling City, might extend our stay.

Sallison Too will be in attendance also considering a mini staycation.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones.
John DeCaro

Hi all. We will be there with our 27, Into the Mystic. Looking forward to it. It'll be a short hop from Cataumet on the Cape. See you there!

Peggy and I will be sailing down on Mon Petit Chou-Chou, from Dennis, MA for the rendezvous. May try to tie in an overnighter at Cuttyhunk on the way or on the return. Look forward to seeing the NE Tugnuts.

Carmelot is planning to attend the gathering. Will be cruising down from the Quincy area. Looking forward to it. Maybe stay awhile too !

Jim

Looks like Luna Rossa might join in, also.

Don't forget, if you are coming send me an e-mail with your name, companion name, boat type & size, phone number and e-mail so I can put you on the contact list. Also you need to make reservations directly with the marina.

Mike Rizzo

Planning on attending the meet up. Already have dock reservation.
Kathleen and Richard
Ranger R27 Shenanagins ( the old Sallison)

I plan to attend in our R27 "Little Debbie" cruising from Warwick, RI.

Howard

I am delighted to hear that Shenanigans with be in attendance. That is a great new name for her as there were lots of shenanigans that went on. I look forward to seeing Kathleen and Richard at the event.
John
Sallison Too

We plan to attend in Sea Turtle our R21EC cruising from Bristol RI.

Bob & Martha Pike

If anyone wanted to trailer their boat there is a nice boat ramp in Fairhaven that I went and checked out, double ramp with floating dock, about ¼ mile to the marina. There is a $7.00 parking fee per day at the ramp. Could ask the folks at the marina if the rig could be parked in their lot.

We are presently boatless 🙁 so we would be driving down from Maine, but a RT-23 is on our short list to fix that issue. We hope to make The Gathering as we feel it would be a good time to talk with owners and get some real world experiences and opinions about the boats.

That's a great idea to come and see the boats and get some first hand opinions. Looks like there will be a couple of R23's there. If you were planning on staying overnight there is a motel within walking distance of the marina, Seaport Inn in Fairhaven. http://www.reservations.com/hotel/seapo ... rmcid=rcc2
I have never stayed there so I don't know much about it but the reviews are pretty good.

I think thats a bit far to try it in a 21. 🙁
