2017 R27 Mase generator error message

Hello everyone, hope you can help me out.

7 hours run Mase 2.7 generator. Ran well prior to winter, winterized it. Went to start last week and the generator turns over but stops after 3 seconds with an 'error code 4, mechanical failure'. Any tips on what to try before taking to a shop? Good fuel, battery is charged. Get the glow plug symbol and there is a 5 second time after pressing the start button before it turns over.

Hello,

If the diesel sat all winter it very well could be bad fuel. I would also make sure your main fuel tank is full. The gen pickup doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the tank. You might try running the gen on a separate tank just to be sure it's not fuel related. I don't know what the error code 4 is, I believe all of their error codes are in the 80's for numbers.

Tank is at 80 gal and no fuel issues that I can detect (engine runs fine, have fuel additives, just ran it 2+ hours).
